This is a nicely priced authentic Civil War percussion capbox. It is the leather pouch that would have held the soldier's percussion caps for his pistol, carbine or musket. This is the style made by Condict of New York and is so marked on the inner flap. You can still see the Condict oval stamp. The closure tab and brass finial are intact and nice. On the back of the box it has one and a half of the original two belt loops are present. The inner flap is present as both of the original two ears on the sides of the flap. On the innermost compartment it has some the lamb's wool remaining. The wool was designed to keep the caps from falling out. This is a good looking original Civil War percussion cap box by Condict of New York.
