Here is a nice original Civil War veteran reunion ribbon. This one is from the 1915 reunion of the members of the 8th Connecticut Infantry. At the top of the ribbon it has the "Forty-Sixth Annual REUNION of the 8th Regiment Conn.Vols." At the bottom, it has the blue lettering reads "Hartford, Conn. / September 17 1915". The 8th Regiment Infantry was organized at Hartford, Connecticut and was mustered in September 21, 1861. This regiment was mustered out December 12, 1865. The 8th Connecticut fought in many battles including Battle of New Bern, Fort Macon, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Walthall Junction, Fort Darling, Cold Harbor and the Siege of Petersburg. During their service, they saw 112 officers and men killed and mortally wounded. The ribbon is nice white silk that has aged to a pretty light tan color. The ribbon measures 6-1/2 inches by 2-1/4th inches in overall size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
