The ribbon is red in color with a lower bar that says "Delegate", the medallion below has "29th Annual Encampment Dept. of Mich. G.A.R." The back of the medallion has the seal with a stag on either side. This is a beautiful designed piece from the collection of noted collector Don Limpert (1927-2022). Don Limpert was a long-time collector of memorabilia from the veterans of the Civil War with an emphasis on the Grand Army of the Republic, the Union veterans of the Civil War organization. He saw the possibilities of combining his vast collection of GAR memorabilia with an original Grand Army of the Republic post building that was available to purchase in downtown Eaton Rapids, Michigan. He purchased the building in 2012, and the building became the Michigan Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall and Museum. After his passing in 2022, his collection was sold and now is your chance to own a piece of that astounding collection.
