Amazing Confederate Bowie Knife With Original Sheath Remaining

This is one of the greatest knives that I have ever been able to offer. This fearsome looking knife has a ton of character! The piece measures 25-1/2 inches in overall length with the blade making up 20-1/2 of those inches. The blade is a wonderfully crude hand forged metal. It is made without the fullers and the tip is rounded off over the years. The handle is what really makes this one stand out. It is made of single piece of cast brass. It looks like a Confederate artillery sword grip with the scaled design to enhance the grip ability. It has the simple crossguard that tapers as it goes out. You can see that it is peened in place at the top of the pommel cap and also pinned in the center of the crossguard. As if that wasn't enough, the blade is accompanied by the original leather and brass sheath. The leather has the tool lines on each side of the front and is stitched down the center of the reverse. It has the original top mount intact and the drag of the sheath was lost eons ago. This is a fantastic Southern weapon with a fantastic untouched look all over.
