Here is a great looking Civil War era engraving. This is a large size image that measures 14 inches by 16 inches in overall size. The first picture shows how large it is beside a dollar bill. The image has Sheridan in his uniform and you can clearly see the stars on his shoulderboards. Below the image of the General, it proudly states "MAJ. GEN. PHIL H. SHERIDAN". It has the notation that it was "Published ay A.H. Ritchie". Alexander Hay Ritchie (January 21, 1822 – September 19, 1895) was a Scottish-born American artist and engraver. He was born in Glasgow, and studied under Sir William Allan before moving to New York City in 1841. On the other side, it states "Photo by Hoag & Quick". Hoag & Quick's Art Palace was located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a fine Sheridan piece of history!
