This is a nice authentic and tough to find .36 caliber Beals model of Remington revolver. This is the early pattern of .36 caliber Remington revolver. The metal on the gun has a darker gray tone all over that is pleasing to the eye. You can tell that this one saw service. It has the Beals Patent mark across the top of the barrel to go along with the Remington maker's mark and Ilion, New York production location stamped "BEAL'S PATENT SEPT. 14, 1858 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION N.Y." At the end of the barrel it has the cone style front sight intact. The cylinder pin is an incorrect old replacement. It has matching serial numbers of 2,157, which is in the earlier part of their production. There were only 14,500 of these Beals model revolvers made during their 1861-1862 production. The action works well on all positions and you can tell that the spur on the hammer has been extended long ago. On the handle of the gun it has the 2-piece walnut grip intact and they grips have a pleasing look all over with a fine amount of the factory varnish. This is a very attractive and scarce .36 caliber Remington Beals revolver.
