This is a great looking piece of history from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic or G.A.R. was the organization made up of Union Survivors of the Civil War. They held reunions and erected monuments to the men that fought for the north during the Civil War. This medal was for a Delegate in Detroit, Michigan June 14-16, 1922 with a red ribbon with gold lettering. The top bar has Detroit, Michigan. The original pin is on the reverse of the bar. The ribbon displays well with some fraying and wear. This is an excellent ribbon for any collection.
