Department of the Cumberland Cavalry Letter From Chattanooga in 1864

This is an original Civil War soldier’s letter. This letter is written from Chattanooga, Tennessee and is dated August 22nd 1864. It is on stationery from the Army of the Cumberland by J.E. Jacobs who was Captain and Assistant Adjutant General. Jacobs was writing to Colonel George Spalding commanding the 4th Cavalry Division in Pulaski, Tennessee. He direct Spalding to find out reports from the Brigade commanders and report them up the chain of command. The paper measures 7-3/4ths inches by 9-3/4ths inches in overall size when opened up. It comes with a type-written translation of the contents. It is a neat original Civil War soldier’s letter.
