Here is a neat display piece! It is 1/2 of a Civil War Borman pattern cannonball. The Borman cannonball that had a diameter of 4.62 inches was also known as the 12 pounder ball. This is the style that was so heavily used during the early part of the Civil War. It is one half that shows the cavity perfectly well to show your friends how they were designed and worked. This one has a perfect cavity and it is the style with the yellow sulfur matrix holding the case shot balls in place. At the top it still has the zinc Borman style time fuse present. This is a great display piece for your artillery collection.
