Here is a great looking piece! It is an original Confederate manufactured cavalry spur. This is the desirable style that was made by the firm of Thomas Leech that was better known as the Memphis Novelty Works Company. They have the classic design. This is the enlisted man's version that is just like the officer's version except without the stars and "CS". The original iron rowel was lost to the ages. One thing that is very cool about this spur is the one strap loop. When you look at the loop, you see that when they poured the molten brass into the sand mold, it had an air bubble inside. You can se the bubble caused it to chip off. This happened with the Southern made pieces sometimes. It displays superbly. It is an excellent piece of Confederate Civil War history!
