What a beautiful gun! This is an original flintlock pistol from the 1700's. This one fires a single bullet of approximately .48 caliber size from the full-length 6 inch barrel. Along the top of the barrel it has the silver inlay that really makes it stand out. It has the floral design but along the top of the barrel it proudly reads "LSERIOCOMIAL GIOCO 1744". This would be the Italian maker or possibly the owner and the 1744 would be the production date. The gun is int he original flintlock configuration and the action still works crisply on both positions. The stock of the gun is made of a single piece of medium tone wood with a gorgeous look. It has the hand detail work to the wrist of the gun with the shield design on the back. The brass furniture of this gun really accents the tone of the wood. It has the bird's head style grip shape. The triggerguard has the squareback design. At the front of the stock it has the original polished horn nosecap. This is a beautiful gun from all angles.
