This is a very attractive non-excavated coat size button for the state of Georgia. On the face is the classic Georgia arch with the word Constitution on the top of the arch. The button has a fine look all over with nice detail to the face. As you can see it has that golden patina to the brass like it spent the last 100 years in the veteran's attic. I love that flavor. The original back and shank is present with the nice, clear Civil War backmark of "HORSTMANN & ALLIEN/NY". This is the Horstmann backmark with the concentric inner ring of rays. This is the style listed as GA4A1 in Albert's button book and GA206a1 in Tice's button book. This is a great looking non-excavated Civil War Georgia state seal coat button.
