Beautiful 1906 New Orleans U.C.V. "VETERAN" Reunion Medal
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a beautiful reunion medal for the United Confederate Veterans that was held in New Orleans on April 25th 1906. On the top bar it has the word "VETERAN" proudly displayed in bold letters just above the word is "61 UCV 65" and the original pin is on the back of the top bar. This means that it would have actually been worn by a veteran not just someone that went to the reunion celebrations. On the medallion itself it has the Confederate battle Flag crossed with the 3rd national Confederate Flag with General John B. Gordon in the center. Around the edge it has "NEW ORLEANS, APRIL 25, 1906" and "61-U.C.V.-65". On the back it has the famous maker's mark of Schwab & Company. We just acquired this piece from a collection and it is a beauty. It is 100% authentic in all regards.
