This is a nice looking piece of history from the United Confederate Veterans. The United Confederate Veterans were the organization made up of Confederate Survivors of the Civil War. They held reunion and erected monuments to the brave men that fought for the South during the Civil War. This brass lapel button was to commemorate the 1901 reunion of the U.C.V. that was held in Memphis, Tennessee. It measures 1 inch across the face. The top has the location of the reunion in Memphis as well as the 1901 date of the reunion. In the center of the piece it has the red and white enamel with the "UCV" lettering. The original stud is intact on the reverse. On the back of the bottom medallion it has the maker's mark still partially visible. This is an excellent UCV piece for any collection.
