Original 1864 Dated State of Mississippi 50 Cent Note with Slave Scene

Here is your chance to own a very cool piece of Mississippi history! This is an original Mississippi piece of currency from 1864. This is an original 1864 dated state of Mississippi 50 cent note. In the lower left hand corner is the picture of a slave hoeing cotton. It has the printed date of issuance of May 1st 1864. The front of the note has the pretty red overprint that reads "50 Cts". At the bottom of the note it has the correct printed signature and has the hand written serial numbers. If you notice along the top of each note it has the small print that states that they were printed by J. Patterson & Company of Augusta, Georgia. The note measures approximately 5 inches by 2.5 inches in overall size. The back of the note is unmarked which is referred to as them being "Uniface". This is a beautifully designed note and displays superbly from all angles.
