Nice Looking Original Civil War Era "Wrtistbreaker" Pattern Cavalry Saber

This is a nice looking original model 1840 pattern Civil War era cavalry saber. They were known as the "Wristbreaker" pattern by collectors because of the thick and quality construction compared to the lighter model 1860 cavalry saber. This one has was originally completely unmarked and has the traits of a European made version of this sword. Many of the nice edged weapons used on both sides of the Civil War were the model 1840 cavalry sabers like this. The full-length 35-1/2 inch blade has a dark attic gray, almost black color tone to the metal. The sword is completely unmarked so it could be sold by any retailer without advertising for the actual maker. The guard and pommel have the thick dark color patina to the brass. The grip of the sword has been nicely restored with modern leather and the double twist wire. The sword is accompanied by a nice original metal scabbard. The scabbard has both of the mounts and rings intact as well as the original throat and drag. This is a very good looking and affordable original Civil War cavalry sword for your collection.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
