Here is something that you don't see very often. It is a flintlock pistol that was made for a left handed shooter. This gun was finely crafted in the late 1700's. The lockplate is in the original flintlock configuration. It is engraved in front of the hammer, "Lowe & Sons". Alexander Lowe and his son, William used this marking from 1792 until 1796 in London, England. The mechanics are fully functional on both positions. The barrel is full-length at 8 inches. The octagonal barrel is designed to fire a single bullet of .54 caliber size. At the breech of the barrel, it has the correct English style proof mark stampings. Along the top of the barrel, it has the finely engraved "Lowe & Sons London" maker marking. Lowe crafted the the stock of the gun from a single piece of dark wood. The wood has a wonderful grain and look. It has the silver furniture with the large acorn style finial on the triggerguard. On the silver grip cap, it has the flower in the center with the flags draped on the sides. Both of the silver ramrod channel guides are intact as well as a horn tipped wooden ramrod. This is a special pistol that has a great look!
