Here is a tough to find authentic Confederate newspaper. This is an original edition of the New Orleans Daily Crescent dated November 9th 1861. This large size paper measures 23 inches by 17 inches in overall size. The cover story of the paper tells of the news of the The Battle of Columbus, Kentucky. On the lower half, it has an article on the fighting at Port Royal, Virginia. The are also several recruitment advertisements for the Confederacy. There is also an ad inside for a slave merchant and one requesting to buy some Colt Revolvers. This is a nice displaying copy that has the the pair of holes on the back page but displays well and is priced accordingly. You don't see many of the Confederate New Orleans newspaper because the city fell into Union control on April 24th 1862. A great piece of history from the Crescent City in the Pelican State!
