Relic Condition Long Barrel .38 Caliber Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" Revolver
Click on an image to enlarge
What a cool looking non-functioning relic! This is the famous Colt revolver known to collectors as the "Lightning". This was officially known as the Model 1877 of the .38 caliber double action Colt revolver. This one has the full-length 5 inch barrel but you can no longer see the remnants of the Colt maker's mark as well as the Hartford, Connecticut production location along the top. The major parts have the serial number that I just can't make out. It is the version that is made with the ejector rod underneath the barrel. The rod is still present. The action is doesn't rotate. The handle of the gun has the original hard rubber grips with the classic "rampant Colt" horse design. For the last several decades, this gun has been in the collection of Mr. Glenn Mattox of Post Falls, Idaho. Mr. Mattox passed and I was able to get this blade that he would NEVER sell me. I have enjoyed it and now it can be part of your collection. This is a nice original relic condition non-functioning Colt Lightning revolver!
