This is a neat piece of police historical memorabilia. This is and original pair of Strauss made steel leg irons with twenty-three links. They have the remnants of the maker marking of "Strauss Eng. Pat. Pend. Crawford GA." still partially visible. The key mase been lost long ago. This set is from the personal collection of the author of the book entitled "American Police Equipment, A Guide to Early Restraints, Clubs & Lanterns" by Matthew G. Forte. This one is from the personal collection of Mr. Forte. The last couple of images show the cover of his book. This one is in very fine shape for display.
