Glen Mattox Collection Relic Condition Colt Model 1877 "Thunderer" Revolver
Click on an image to enlarge
What a cool looking relic! This is the famous Colt revolver known to collectors as the "Thunderer". This was officially known as the Model 1877 of the .41 caliber double action Colt revolver. This one has the full-length 4 inch barrel it would have had the Colt maker's mark as well as the Hartford, Connecticut production location. On the left hand side of the barrel, it would have had the "COLT D.A. 41" stamp. It is the version that is made with the ejector rod underneath the barrel. The rod is there but the rod press end is missing. The action is frozen up and the grips have been lost to the ages after its years of exposure to the elements. For the last several decades, this gun has been in the collection of Mr. Glenn Mattox of Post Falls, Idaho. Mr. Mattox passed and I was able to get this blade that he would NEVER sell me. I have enjoyed it and now it can be part of your collection. This is a nice original relic condition Colt Thunderer revolver!
