Scarce Non-Excavated War of 1812 United States Infantry Coat Button GI41
Click on an image to enlarge
This is your opportunity to own a very scarce version of uniform button from the war of 1812. This is the pattern listed as GI41 in Albert's button book. It is a one-piece pewter button with the shank. The face of the button has the Eagle in the center with the wording "UNITED STATES INFANTRY" around the edge. You can tell that this one was worn extensively. They wore it enough that the detail was worn off of the face as you see. It is priced accordingly. This large 22 mm button is seldom encountered. This one is in nice non-excavated condition. On the reverse of the button it still has the original shank intact. In our 25 years in business this is only the 2nd one of this pattern button that we have been able to offer.
