This is a great looking piece! It is an original 1861 dated
Louisiana $1.50 note issued from the New Orleans, Jackson & Great northern
Railroad Company. It has their long name going around the beautiful steam train
image in the center of the note. Along the top of the note it has the New
Orleans location of issuance as well as the printed issuance date of November
16th 1861. On each end of the note it has the large denomination
printing that reads "ONE DOLLAR
& 50 CENTS". It is correctly hand signed and serial numbered in fine old ink. This note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation. The
overall size of the note measures 6-1/4th inches by 2-3/4ths inches.
This is a great piece of currency from the South.
