What an attractive gun! This is an original Civil War era 9mm pinfire pattern revolver. This one is a special style that has the full-length 5-1/4th inch barrel with the original front sight remaining. At the base of the barrel, it has the inlaid stud style sight. The barrel is also crafted as part octagonal and part round which is a neat design. Along the top of the barrel, it is engraved with the retailer marking of "BONNERAVE & CHAPON. BEUNOS AIRES". The cylinder has the ornate chiseled engraving. The gun has the original ejector rod present as well as the loading gate. The loading gate is still present. On the side of the cylinder it has the Belgian style proof mark stamped into the metal. The left-hand side of the frame has the production number stamped into the metal. The barrel has the maker marking of "LEFAUCHEUX B/ ACIER FONDU" on the left flat. On the right hand side, it has the matching and correct "AF" stamps of the maker, Acier Fondu. The handle of the gun has the original 2-piece dark wood grips intact with the checkering. The mechanics of the gun are designed in a double action and it still functions quite well. On the bottom of the handle it has the lanyard ring intact. This is a nicely maker marked 9 mm pinfire revolver made by Acier Fondu.
