Gettysburg Unit! 1865 Discharge Paper for Christopher Myers 139th Pennsylvania

This is a great looking piece of Pennsylvania history. This is the discharge paper given to a soldier when they were mustered out of service. This one is dated June 21st 1865. It is discharging Christopher F. Myers at the rank of Private of Company C of the 139th Pennsylvania Infantry. The piece is on beautiful preprinted paper and has the blanks filled in with fine Brown ink. The document measures 8 1/2 inches wide and stands 11inches tall. It has the eagle image in the center and top. The records show that Myers enlisted on September 1st 1862in the 139th Pennsylvania Infantry. He served with this regiment until June 21st 1865 when he mustered out in Washington, D.C. The 139th had an impressive service history that included Gettysburg. Their monument is located in the Wheatfield at Gettysburg. A brief printout of Myers' service as well as that of the 139th Pennsylvania Infantry will accompany the document at no additional charge.
