Here is a neat gun. This is an original Civil War era large frame pinfire style revolver. It is a 6 shot revolver that fires the 12 mm pinfire style cartridges. The barrel is full-length at 6-3/8th inches and has the original front sight still intact. One thing that makes this one stand out from the rest is that the frame, cylinder, triggerguard and top of the barrel have intricate engraving and chase work. The floral and geometric designs are very attractive. On the side of the cylinder, it has the remnants of the engraved images. The gun has the original loading gate intact. When you look at the right hand side of the frame, it has the stamped marking of "LF 11629". On the other side of the frame, it has the faint remnants of the Brevet marking stamped into the metal. These markings mean that the gun was made under license from the LeFacheaux Company. This gun is a single action version. The gun rotates when you pull the hammer back and the pulling the trigger the rest of the way drops the hammer. The handle of the gun has the original two-piece wooden grips intact. They are made of very dark wood and displays well. On the bottom of the grip it still has the original lanyard ring firmly intact. These lanyard rings were designed to help the user hold onto the pistol when moving or on horseback. This is an attractive gun with a cool look.
