Click on an image to enlarge
This is a good looking socket bayonet for the .69 caliber Springfield rifle. This is the pattern known to collectors as the model 1835. This is the one that would go on the .69 caliber Springfield or contract muskets of the model 1835/40 or model 1842. It has a full-length blade with the partial "US" stamp at the base still visible. The socket is complete and has the original lockring and screw that are both fully-functional. This one has a dark tone all over and will be a solid addition to your model 1835 or 1842 musket.
