Original "TRYON LONDON" Marked Single Shot Boot Pistol With Drop Down Trigger
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a great little gun! It is an original Civil War era single barrel boot or pocket pistol. It has the round iron frame with the floral and geometric engraving on the sides. On the left hand side it has the "TRYON" retailer mark visible and on the other side, it has the "LONDON" location. The gun measures approximately 6-1/4th inches in overall size with the barrel making up 2-1/2 of those inches. It ahs the barrel that unscrews for cleaning and it still unscrews. The action works on the single position. These were designed with the trigger that dropped down out of the frame when you cocked back the hammer. This one drops down correctly but the return spring doesn't pull it back up so you have to put it back up by hand. The grip of the gun has the original wooden handle with a oval shaped silver inlay on the backstrap side of it. On the underside of the frame and barrel it has the correct English proof marks deeply stamped. This is a very nice looking gun for your collection.
