Click on an image to enlarge
This is an authentic 1862 issued Confederate States of America $10.00 bill. This is the version printed on the pinkish tone paper and has the beautiful Capitol of the State of South Carolina in the center. The note is dated December 2nd 1862 and was issued from Richmond, Virginia. It has pretty blue ink print on the back of the note. In the lower right hand corner is the likeness of Robert M.T. Hunter who served as Confederate Secretary of State and a C.S. Senator. Before the War he was a U.S. Congressman and Senator from Virginia. On the back of the note it has the beautiful ornate designs with several Roman numeral "X" which of course stands for the 10 denomination. This is the pattern of note listed as T-52 in Criswell's book on Confederate currency. The note is correctly hand signed and numbered. It is in very attractive lightly circulated condition. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
