Hadley Maker Marked English Revolutionary War Era 1751 Hanger Sword
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a very cool sword from the time around the Revolutionary War. This is the shorter pattern sword style that is known to collectors as the Pattern 1751 infantry "hanger" pattern sword. The blade has a fine looking light gray tone all over. The handle is cast brass version with the spiral ribs ending in the capstan style pommel that is the version referred to by collectors as the "1751" type. You can still see some of the original factory gold gilding down in the protected areas of the brass. It is a fine looking original Revolutionary War sword by Hadley.
