BIG PIMPING! Here is a very cool original Colt revolver in the original box. This is the desirable Colt that was made in London officially under Colt's patent. They are known to collectors as the "London Colt" of the model 1851. This one is all original and in great shape. It has all matching serial numbers of 36,408 which lets us know that this one was made in 1855. They only made about 42,000 of these guns and this one is a nice one. It has the correct London style proof marks on all of the major parts. Across the top of the barrel it still reads "ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON". It has the correct style iron triggerguard and backstrap. The side of the frame has the clear "COLT'S PATENT" stamping still visible to go along with the one on the side of the cylinder. As you can see the sides of the barrel have the engraving still visible which is a nice touch on an already attractive revolver. What makes this gun stand out from other is that it was factory finished with the Gold Damascene pattern. It gives it an amazing look. Can you imagine how this one sparkled when it left the factory? It still has a beautiful amount of the gold finish as you see. On the handle of the gun it has the very attractive original 1-piece wooden grips and they have the beautiful grain pattern. What is special about this gun is that it is contained in the original case from the English retailer. The case that measures 14-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches by 2-3/8ths inches in overall size has a beautiful well worn look to the wood and even has the original brass inlay on the top. There are some letters on the brass but all I can read is "Artillery". Inside it has the attractive red lining still nicely intact. It is accompanied by the cleaning rod, bullet mold, flask and percussion caps that are correct for this model of gun. The gun tool is original and is the correct style with the hole that the nipple wrench of the tool fits into. On the top of the inside of the box it has the English retailer's label of the famous B. Cogswell company and it has the London address.. This is a very attractive original .36 caliber London Colt navy revolver in the original retailers' case. Don't miss this set.
