This is a rare original pack that would have held Civil War cannon friction primers. These are the versions that were made by the Frankford Arsenal and are so marked on the outside of the dark blue paper. You can still see most all of the printing including the production date. At the top it has the image of friction primer printed on the label. I guess that was done so that the artillerymen that couldn't read would know what they were. Also on the paper is the traces of the manufacture date of 1864 at the bottom. All 5 of the primers are missing from inside the pack and it is priced accordingly. The label has some loss and it is priced accordingly. You very seldom see these offered anymore so don't miss this one!
