This is an authentic and also one of the toughest to find of all Confederate notes. This is the 1861 production of the Confederate $50 note. In Criswell's book on Confederate currency it is listed as a T-6. This one has the serial number of 3,665. They state that they only produced 5,800 of these notes. He also notes that these were the last of the Confederate notes that were actually signed by the register and treasurer. On the left hand side of the note, it has the image of the Goddess Justice. The center scene has the likeness of Agriculture and Industry seated on a bale of cotton. On the right hand side, it has the George Washington portrait. It is designed using black and green ink. The note was professionally graded by the Paper Money Guaranty and they graded it at a level of "Choice Fine". As you can see, the note has the "Hole Cancelled" punch marks where the Confederate Government took the note out of circulation. It comes in the PMG acid free holder for preservation and display
