Nice Smith & Wesson .32 Caliber Rimfire Cartridge from Union Cartridge
Click on an image to enlarge

This is a very nice metallic cartridge for the .32 caliber Smith & Wesson Rimfire revolver known as the "Old No. 2" revolver. This pattern of gun was very popular with the well-to-do soldiers of the Civil War including General Custer and General Grant. This is the pattern that is illustrated on page 65 of Logan's cartridge book. This one would have been made after the Civil War because of the headstamp but will still display well with you Civil War revolver. This Cartridge is in excellent non-excavated condition and displays well as you can see. On the bottom of the cartridge it has the "U" stamp. This is the mark of the famous Union Metallic Cartridge Company. This is a fine non-excavated piece of firearms history.
