PAIR OF LAST DITCH OPTIMISM NOTES! This is a very attractive original consecutive serial numbered 1865 dated $10.00 note from the state of Georgia. Yes you read that correctly! It was issued from Milledgeville, Georgia on March 20th 1865 and is so dated at the top of the note. This is just 20 days before Confederate General Robert E. Lee would surrender to Union General U.S. Grant at Appomattox, Virginia. This note has a fine look with a beautiful design. It has the likeness of the Georgia state seal arches in the top center of the note. On the left hand side it has the steam train going down the track. The printing states that on December 25th 1865, or within three months after that date, the note will be acceptable for all public dues "AT HER TREASURY IN CONFEDERATE TREASURY NOTES". The notes are in nice almost un-circulated condition. Each one is correctly hand signed and numbered in fine old ink. The overall size of the note measures 7 inches by 3 inches in size. The notes comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
