1862 Dated Mississippi Central Railroad $2.00 Bill With Steam Train Image
Click on an image to enlarge

Here is a very nice original Civil War dated $2.00 note issued by the Mississippi Central Railroad company. It has the clear and printed date of issuance of January 1st 1862 at the top along with the location of issuance of Holly Springs, Mississippi. Down towards the bottom it states that it is "payable in Confederate States notes" which is a neat touch on an already great note. In the center of the top of the note it has the image of a steam train on the tracks. It still has the red overprint on the front. This was added to help aid in the prevention of counterfeit notes. It is correctly hand signed and number in old ink. The note measures 7 inches by 2-7/8ths inches in overall size. The note is in very nice circulated condition and is 100% authentic. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
