This
is a beautiful design on this one! It is a fine original Confederate States of
America $20.00 bill issued from Richmond, Virginia on September 2nd 1861. This is one of the most beautifully designed notes ever made by the
Confederacy. It has the image of the Goddess Ceres seated between Commerce and
Navigation in the center. On the left hand side it has the likeness of Lady
Liberty. What makes this pattern really stand out is that the green ink
overprint against the black ink. This one has a beautiful pale green tone to
the ink. These notes were printed in Richmond, Virginia by the firm of Ludwig
& Hoyer. The note is correctly hand signed and numbered as it should be. It
is in attractive circulated condition and displays well. This is the version
listed as T-17 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. The overall size of the
note measures 7.25 inches by 3 inches. This piece has been professionally graded by the PCGS Company and they have graded it as "Choice Fine". They note that the paper had some damage and it was previously mounted. It comes in their acid free holder for
preservation and display.
