Beautifully Designed 1868 Dated South Carolina Reconstruction $500 Savings Bond

This is a beautiful bond from the reconstruction era of South Carolina. This is an original 1868 State of South Carolina $500 Bond Certificate. This is one is a gorgeous designed post Civil War reconstruction Southern state bonds. This is a very attractive document with four high quality vignettes on the paper. The center top has the image of the South Carolina state seal of the Palmetto tree and on the left hand side, it has the image of a black man picking cotton. On the right hand side, it has the cotton wagons. In the bottom center of the bond, it has the Revolutionary War soldier with the allegorical likeness of Lady Justice. At the bottom, it has the original interest coupons attached. This one was never signed or issued and displays beautifully as you can see. It was serial number 696 and is so marked on the top portion as well as each of the bonds at the bottom. This is a beautiful piece!
