1864 Dated Concord, New Hampshire 2 Cent Note From Morrill & Silsby

Here is a Civil War merchant note that came from Concord, New Hampshire. These were issued by Morrill & Silsby. It was for the value of 2ยข and has the printed date of issue of July 1, 1864. This one is in Choice Crisp Uncirculated condition. While unissued, Kevin Lafond, in his new catalog on New Hampshire merchant scrip, has complete documentation indicating that these notes were printed and used by this firm (and others). The note measures 3 inches by 1-5/8ths inches. It comes in an acid-free holder for display and preservation.
