"RICH QUALITY LONDON" B/M 1-Piece Maine State "Star" Coat Button Like ME4
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a great looking button! This is the button that was worn by the soldiers from the State of Maine. It is the pattern that was listed as figure ME4 in Albert's button book and as ME100b7 in Tice's button book. The face of the button has the smaller star design in the center of the button. Around the edge of the button it has 17 stars on a lined background. This is the version that is made of copper and was silver washed at one time. You can still see traces of the silver on the face and a fine amount on the back. These are one piece buttons and this one is in excellent shape with the original shank nicely intact on the reverse. You can also read the backmark of "RICH QUIALITY LONDON" that is still nice and clear. This is a great looking specimen all the way around.
