Silvered Non-Excavated 1-Piece Massachusetts State Seal Coat Button MS27

This is a beautiful 1 piece coat size Massachusetts uniform button. This one has the Indian standing in the every center of the button face with his bow and arrow in hand. Above that is the arm design and at the bottom is the ribbon that reads "MASSACHUSETTS". What makes this one really stand out is the silver plating on the button. It displays superbly! The back has the clear backmark of "WARRANTED TREBLE PLATED" with a wreath. The shank is present on the back as you can see. This is the version listed as figure MS27 in Albert's button book and MS110a2 in Tice's button book. I have always though that this is one of the best looking uniform buttons of the pre-Civil War period. This is a fine non-excavated button for any collector.
