Excellent Non-Dug Washington Cavalry of Rhode Island Coat Button RI35

This is a fine looking coat size Rhode Island uniform button. It is the uniform button listed as figure RI35 in Albert's button book and RI251a1 in Tice's button book. This was made for the Washington Cavalry of Rhode Island. It has the Rhode Island anchor seal in the center of the face with the "WG" lettering below that stands for the Washington Cavalry. It has an excellent amount of the gold remaining on the face and the original back and shank with the correct pre-Civil War era R&W Robinson backmark. According to Tice's button book these were made from about 1835 until 1855. This is an excellent original Washington Cavalry coat button.
