This is a scarce original Civil War savings bond from the state of Arkansas. On the sides of the paper it states "War Bond" because they were funding the Confederate War effort. This is the style that was done in 1862 for the sum of $10. It has black ink on the white paper that has aged to a tan tone that gives it a great colorful look. The center of the main section has the ornate red printing that reads "The State of Arkansas". It is correctly hand signed and numbered in ink. The main bond as well as the interest coupons below is all serial numbered 97,986 It still retains all of the original interest coupons attached at the bottom. The overall size of the bond measures 8-1/4th inches by 3-7/875 inches. This is a beautiful piece from the state of Arkansas from the Civil War Confederacy.
