This is a scarce little gun from the famous Remington Firearms Company. This is the pattern that is known as the 3rd model of the Remington Beals patent pocket revolver. According to Flayderman's guide they only produced about 1000 of these guns in 1859 and 1860. This one has a pleasing look all over with a dark patina. This one has all matching serial numbers and it is the 275th one produced. It has the number on the frame and underneath each grip. The top of the barrel reads "BEALS'PATENT 1856 & 57 & 58 MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS' ILION N.Y." the front of the barrel still has the original cone style silver site intact. It still retains a nice amount of the original bluing on the barrel. The mechanics of the gun still work well on both positions. The handle of the gun still retains both of the 2 piece original hard rubber grips intact with a pleasing look. This gun fires a .31 caliber bullet from the 5 shot round cylinder. The barrel is full-length at 4 inches. This is a very low production revolver from the famous Remington Company with a great look.
