New Model 1859 Sharps Cavalry Carbine .52 Caliber Iron Bullet Molld
Click on an image to enlarge
Have you ever had a chance to own one of these? Probably not. This is the iron bullet mold that was designed to cast the conical bullet for the .52 caliber Sharps patent carbine or rifle. These were for the early Civil War model. It has the stamping on one of the legs that proudly reads "NEW MODEL 1859". They have the grooves on the side of the bullet that are distinctly for a Sharps carbine or rifle. The mold is made of iron. What is cool is that it is in beautiful non-excavated condition. The iron still opens and closely just as it should and would even cast a bullet today. Don't miss this very tough to find Civil War bullet mold.
