Fierce Looking Excavated Iron Spearhead with Harpers Ferry Attribution
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a neat piece we just got out of a collection in North Mississippi. It is an excavated iron spear point that was hand forged. This massive piece would have mounted on the end of a spear. It measures 15 inches in length and is 2-1/2 inches wide at the widest point. The iron has the old pitting from the years int he ground with a little metal loss on the pole end. The verbal history that accompanied the piece is that it was found near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia decades ago. This is a neat display piece.
