Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a fine original autograph of Confederate General Felix Zollicoffer (1812 - 1862). This is an excellent original autograph of the famous Confederate General. It is trimmed from the document and written in fine Brown ink on a piece of brown paper that measures 1 inch tall and is 6 1/8 inches wide. There is an old repair to one side on the reverse that is mentioned for exactness but does not detract from the display. Zollicoffer was born in Maury County, Tennessee on May 19, 1812. He was a journalist before the war but served during the Seminole War of 1836. He was elected to Congress and served until 1859. He received his commission as a Confederate Brig. General in the Confederate States Army on July 9, 1861. During the battle of Mill Springs on July 19, 1862 the general was killed in action. He is buried in Nashville, Tennessee. The autograph is accompanied by a printed biography of his service as well as a modern Xerox image of the General. The paper that the autograph is on measures 4-3/8ths inches by 1-1/2 inches in overall size. It is a fine piece of history!
