Scarce Leather Holster Long Barrel for the .44 Single Action Starr Revolver

Here is a great looking piece! It is an original leather holster for a .44 caliber Civil War Starr patent revolver. This is the style that holds the single action version of the Starr revolver that is officially known as the model 1863 Starr revolver. According to Flayderman's guide they made only about 32,000 of these single action Starr revolvers between 1863 and 1865. You see few of the revolvers and a relatively few original holsters such as this one exist. On the back of the holster it has the original belt loops still intact. The outer flap and the rest of the leather are well worn but display well. The leather is sill nice and mostly pliable with a little stiffening. The closure tab is still original and present. On the flap. you can see some of the original oval stamp of the Government inspector approval stamp. At the bottom of the holster it has the original plug cap in place. This will make a superb addition to your single action Starr patent revolver.
