Confederate Marked 25 Cent City of Natchez, Mississippi From 1862

Here is a beautifully designed piece of Mississippi currency from the Civil War. This is an original May 30th 1862 dated 25 cent note issued by the City of Natchez, Mississippi. In the center it states that "The City of Natchez WILL PAY ON DEMAND TEN CENTS, In Confederate notes when presented in sums of Five Dollars. It proudly states "CITY OF NATCHEZ" and has the blue ink "TWENTY-FIVE CENTS". The note was printed on paper that had already been used. It was cheaper than buying new paper. The note measures 4-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches in overall size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
