Click on an image to enlarge

Here is a very nice original pre-Civil War dated $20.00 note issued by the Southern Railroad Company. The Mississippi and Alabama Railroad was in operation from roughly 1836-1841, ultimately becoming part of today's Canadian National Railway system. It has the clear and printed date of issuance of November July 1st 1839 in the center below the image of of a seated allegorical woman. It also has the location of issuance of Brandon, Mississippi. On the back of the note it has the dark brown-orange color designs. It is correctly hand signed and number in old ink. The note measures 7-1/2 inches by 3-1/8th inches in overall size. The note is in well circulated condition and is 100% authentic. As you can see, it has some wear and it is priced accordingly. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
